Description
Creatine kinase (CK), also an enzyme, is found mostly in muscle cells. High levels of CK indicate some form of muscle damage but do not indicate what type of muscle has been damaged. Muscle damage may be due to disease (for example, rhabdomyolysis, muscular dystrophy, and hypothyroidism), injury, and over-exercising.
