Leptin

Description

Leptin is a hormone released by fat cells that helps to control body weight through its effect on the appetite centers in the brain.  Leptin is secreted in a pulsatile fashion with levels highest at night and lowest in the morning. Leptin is also associated with inflammation.  Leptin levels can decrease with “healthy” weight loss.
